Mahogany fans were in for a treat at the Salon International 2013 live seminar, where the team unveiled the secrets behind its latest collection, Maidens And Rebels.
Half the models for the collection - the Rebels - had dark, high-shine hair with a rock chick vibe, while the other half - the Maidens - wore ethereal white outfits and had blonde hair streaked with browns, blues and violets.
Along with other members of the team, Colin Greaney and Neil Atkinson led an in-depth presentation explaining the intricate cutting techniques used to create the looks in the collection.

"Every technique which you see on stage can be diluted and watered down for the salon," said Neil. It was also pointed out that a big difference compared to Mahogany's previous collection was that there was much less graduation; instead hair was kept flat to the head and it was all about taking weight out rather than building it up.
The team's colour guru Tai Walker explained that they had opted for clashing yet complimentary colours for the collection, meeting amber with violet and green with red for an unusual finish. These were mainly applied in the fringe area, providing a striking focal point to the cut.
After the models had all had their locks cut and coloured, it was time for one last catwalk show to admire the finished results, before the team took their bows to rapturous applause.
