Colour is king with saco's curve collection
Beauty and suitability are key to great looking hair, Saco team members told the audience at their Salon Seminar, where they launched their new collection, Curve.
As the name suggests, the collection is all about working with the head's natural shape to create a beautiful silhouette that maximises the face's potential.
To complement the personalised rounded shapes, blondes were given accents of pastel shades while infusions of violet and green added interest to darker bases.
"I believe that colour is there to complement the shape and the balance of the haircut," said Charmaine Piche, Saco's head of colour. "It's not about how many colours you can get on the head, but how you place them.
"You have to think about ways to complement the shape and the balance not distort it."
Being a brand that is predominantly about education, Saco interspersed their cutting and colour demonstration with tips and advice for the audience to take back to their salons.
"Don't be afraid to say to a client you have got great lips, we want to emphasise your lips," creative director Jack Bayne explained. "That is the way to bring them out of themselves and you might be surprised by how they open up."
Other highlights included Diamond Dogs, a stunning presentation of men's hairstyles that was inspired by David Bowie in the 70s. The four looks tightly hugged the back of the head while hair was left longer on top with focal points created by textures and colour.
And the female presentation models, which shone with on-trend crops that were finished in a of head-turning colour palette of creamy blonde, vivacious violet and hot orange.
As the presentation models were greeted by a warm reception from the audience, Saco founder Richard Ashforth said: "The real hero of the collection is the colour." And what a hero it was.
