AI Predicts Hair Trends for 2024

Published 12th Dec 2023 by Josie Jackson

Hair trends can be influenced by a variety of factors, including the fashion industry, celebrities, social media and innovations in the hair industry. Hair trends are also cyclical, meaning that they resurface, or reoccur, as time passes. With that in mind, many of the hair trend predictions for 2024 might be styles you’re already familiar with – trends don’t always have to be something new. However, if you take issue with any of these trend predictions, don’t take it up with us – as we’re asking AI tool Bard to share its trend forecast...

Slicked-Back Bob

This sleek and polished style was all over the runways this year, and it's set to continue into 2024. To achieve this look on your clients, use a strong-hold styling product like gel or pomade to slick their hair back from their face; you can also add some texture with a texturizing spray or powder.

Baroque Bob

The Baroque Bob is another one of Bard's hair trend predictions for 2024. This style is characterised by its voluminous, asymmetrical shape. It's a great option for those with natural curls or longer bob haircuts that have grown out.

Long Layers

Layers are a great way to add dimension and texture to hair, and they're especially flattering on long hair. In 2024 we're going to be seeing longer layers that start higher up on the head, which creates a more youthful and airy look.

Ginger Highlights

Copper has been dominating colour trends the past couple of years – with trends such as Copper Sunset and Cowboy Copper taking centre stage on social media. For 2024, we'll be seeing ginger highlights step up to the fore as one of the leading hair trends. These warm, vibrant highlights add dimension and depth to your hair, plus they're especially flattering on those with fair skin and warm undertones.

Statement Braids

Braids were a major statement piece on the runways – just take a look at the Mithridate SS24 show – with designers incorporating them into everything from ponytails and buns to updos and plaits. Experiment with different braiding techniques and patterns to create a look that's both stylish and eye-catching.

90s Minimalism

The 90s were in full effect at SS24, with models sporting styles that were simple, effortless, and cool. Look for blunt cuts, loose waves, and minimal styling to capture this vibe.
