Wella professionals couture colour introduces ss16 ecaille collection Ecaille, a French term for tortoiseshell – is the latest trend in hair colour. In its stunning interpretation of this emerging trend, Wella Professionals has created a bespoke, multi-tonal colour service with beautifully placed light and shade patterns enhanced by the soft movement of molded textures. The SS16 Ecaille Collection was created for Wella Professionals by two of its Global Creative Artists, Hester Wernert-Rijn and Jake Unger, HOB Salons who was supported by current colourist of the year and Wella Professionals Colour Club member Issie Churcher. Together, they created nine different interpretations of the Ecaille look, perfectly demonstrating the personalised and versatile nature of this trend [hji-gallery-legacy] Jake Unger “We shot the collection in the inspiring Côte Azur. I would describe this trend as a new movement in craftsmanship and beauty rituals which gives the client the ultimate luxury experience in salon. Beauty is luxurious and hand-crafted and I think that’s a really nice concept.” Jake: “I love the collection’s expertly handcrafted feel which places a real emphasis on the craftsmanship of the hairdresser. The colour is inspired by molten metallics - imagine they have been heated to create these beautiful greys, coppers and golds which all flow together.  We’re working with several different colours, but they all come together in a really authentic way.” Supple, moulded shapes and soft texture in the styling echo the fluidity of the colour and complete these luxurious looks. Precious metallics, exacting precision and artisanal craftsmanship come together in this naturally sophisticated, bespoke colour trend which will be taking Wella salons by storm for Spring Summer 2016.
