The second day of the UNITE Hair 2012 Global Session saw a full schedule of inspiring artists bring to life a wealth of looks, from avant-garde updos to consumer-friendly curls.

First to the stage for day two of the Global Session was Adam Noble of Next Hair in Australia, Jami Symons from Canada, Stacey Joyce of The Parlour in Denver and director of education, Steve de Lorenzo.

Adam brought to life a golden dip-dye with a wide fringe and dressed out curls, inspired by the ongoing trend for directional shades which is still a firm favourite in his home country. Jami recreated an image from UNITE's campaign, crimping hair and wrapping in hair nets before sculpting into a couture updo. Stacey was inspired by the latest Chanel images, giving the choppy blunt wig-like look a wearable update with a softer shade and personalisation. Finally Steve showed off his finesse with short hair by transforming a model he found that morning in Starbucks from long and lacklustre to spectacularly short and sexy with a crop full of movement.

The second show saw founder and CEO Andrew Dale joined by session stylist Paul Merritt, Dona McLachlan of Snip in Miami and David 'Fletch' Fletcher from Urban Retreat in London.

Dale presented a disconnected cut with a rounded shape, creating a versatile look which can be worn in multiple ways, while Paul recreated a New York Fashion Week look by wrapping hair around homemade pins for zig-zag texture. Dona presented a salon-friendly version of the undercut with a carved cut finished in striking red, and Fletch demonstrated his session styling skills with a Bardot bouffant and voluminous ponytail.

Next up was the FAME Team, representing the best in British hairdressing. Ashleigh Hodges presented an avant-garde look with three statement braids creating an 'alien couture' look crafted from knotted hairpieces. Ryan Harris created dressed-out curls, shaped to create a voluminous finish using a DIY styling board crafted from a pan lid wrapped in tights. Finally Isabella Hyde transformed a model's damaged roots-heavy look into a glossy peroxide blonde style full of texture.

The first show of the afternoon celebrated men's hair with a presentation on UNITE's grooming range; Go 24:7. Dale reminded the audience that grooming is the fastest growing category in the beauty industry and that having a dedicated men's range is a smart move.

Tres Benzley, Riley McLachlan, Steve de Lorenzo and Renee Africa showed off a series of gents' styles, ranging from a tailored 50s rockabilly look to classic barbered looks complemented with sharply groomed beards and brows.

Next on stage were senior artistic director Julie Mustoffa-Meggitt, Ireland's Kevin Kahan, Cor Bouw of Dutch Hair and UNITE's colour guru, Ana Montes de Oca.

Julie presented a permed style, explaining their resurgence for a younger audience who want waves and texture rather than curls. Kevin presented a technical cut, demonstrating how to cut wavy hair using a notched cutting style. For Ana, it was a crimped style formed into a series of knots for an editorial updo while Cor transformed an orange dip-dyed style with a razor cut textured style.

Closing the show were Gary Glossman, Renee Africa, Dennis Kil and Eduard Meijerink with a series of statement looks. Gary presented a new way to cut long hair, maintaing length while adding texture to highlight the balayaged colour. Renee opted for a short crop with length on top highlighted in a vibrant red shade. Eduard showed off a spectacular bright red shade in an 80s-inspired voluminous style while Dennis put his cut in the hand's of the audience. After bringing out a model wearing a large wig, Dennis enhanced the message of consultation by asking the audience to guess her personal style and tastes - after ripping the wig off, the audience then directed Dennis throughout the model's cut for an edgy layered crop.

The afternoon ended with the announcement of winners from the previous night's costume party and a raffle, before the audience left feeling inspired and excited to put to good use the ideas they'd picked up over the weekend.
