Top Textured Hair Trends As Seen at London Fashion Week

Chris Grimley, owner of Fusion Hair Co and Textured Curl Academy, shares the top 5 textured hair trends she saw at London Fashion Week 2025.

It wasn't just the street style (see lead image of Jodie Turner Smith) but across the catwalks an array of TWAs (teeny weeny Afro), synthetic braids and, the piece de resistance, Naomi Campbell's brushed out curls.

Naomi Campbell Dsquared2 Finale

"

Naomi Campbell knows how to make an impact, and her electrifying finale at DSquared2’s London Fashion Week 2025 show was no exception. Striding down the runway in skin-tight, thigh-high boots and a lace-up bodysuit, she embodied such punk-rock energy, but it was her bold, high-volume textured hair that truly stole the show.

Campbell’s gravity-defying, sculptural texture was a striking departure from the sleek styles she’s often known for. This dramatic shift didn’t just complement DSquared2’s rebellious aesthetic, it reinforced the growing momentum behind *big, expressive hair on the runway

Fashion is embracing more diverse, statement-making textures, and Campbell’s show-stopping look at DSquared2 feels like a defining moment. While luxury fashion has often favoured polished minimalism, this season proves that volume, movement, and fearless texture are carving out their place in the industry to see more of this unapologetic approach to textured hair as 2025 unfolds."

Annies Ibiza

Annie’s Ibiza's London Fashion Week 2025 collection, inspired by the Renaissance, was all about feminine strength and resilience. The hair design perfectly complemented this powerful narrative with extra-long, beachy mermaid waves paired with loose braids. This modern interpretation of historical beauty focused heavily on the hair's natural texture, showcasing a variety of different hair types on the runway, which was wonderful to see.

This kind of textured hair reflects a growing shift, one that celebrates authenticity and embraces natural movement. The emphasis on length, volume, and subtle detailing further enhances this trend, and I expect to see it widely embraced in 2025.

Labrum London

Labrum London marked a powerful moment for Afro-textured hair on the 2025 runway, blending rich African hairstyling traditions with modern innovation. The show featured Bantu knots, parted with pillars of synthetic wavy and coil hair, locs adorned with dangling beads, and intricate cornrows, all pushing Afro-textured styles to new, breathtaking heights.

It was a true celebration of Afro-textured hair, reimagining iconic styles with a bold, contemporary twist. The Bantu knots and synthetic wavy coils brought an entirely new texture and shape to the hair, while the locs with beads added depth and personality. The cornrows were expertly executed, adding intricate detail and texture that elevated the entire look.

Labrum London has elevated Afro-textured hair beyond what we typically see on the runway. It’s so exciting to see these styles take centre stage, showing that Afro-textured hair can be celebrated as a work of art, seamlessly integrated into high fashion.

Richard Quinn

Richard Quinn’s London Fashion Week 2025 appearance featured a subtle nod to the 1980s, but the hairstyles embraced a more modern, textured aesthetic. Models sported teased, voluminous hair that highlighted natural movement and volume without the excessive styling typical of that era. The focus was on pre-styling and blow-drying techniques to achieve height at the roots, resulting in a relaxed and contemporary interpretation of the iconic '80s look.

The hair was all about controlled volume. The teased texture didn’t feel overdone or overly slick. By blow-drying for volume at the roots and layering in texture, the hair appeared effortlessly full, modern and wearable, yet still very much a homage to the '80s.

This demonstrates a shift away from extreme styling towards embracing the hair's natural texture. The focus is on technique and preparation to create volume and shape and is a refreshing approach I can’t wait to see gain more momentum.

SS Daly

SS Daley’s embraced the art of effortlessly textured hair, blending soft volume with just the right amount of structure. The looks were fluid and natural, yet maintained a sense of definition, showcasing a relaxed yet elevated approach to texture. Key to achieving this look was the use of textured spray, which created a natural, ‘effortlessly mused’ finish.

The hair was designed to feel as though it came together without too much effort, with loose, soft waves with structure at the roots, giving an organic yet refined appearance. The textured spray allowed for a controlled, lived-in feel, which emphasised natural movement and body, creating a timeless ‘just-woke-up’ look, but was still polished enough for the runway.

SS Daley showed that effortless texture can still be refined yet impactful. This trend reflects a broader industry move toward embracing more natural, lived-in styles that still look polished and considered, making it perfect and fitting for the season ahead.
