Halo.JPGA hairdressing salon previously owned by the Plymouth and South-West Co-operative society, has been bought by the staff that helped make it a successful business.

When the Co-operative decided to sell off its non-food businesses, including the salon, formerly known as Snips, it offered staff the chance to buy it.

The salon, in Crownhill Village, Plymouth was bought by Julie Wotton, who was employed at Snips for 22 years, and stylist, Sarah Jury.

The pair have revamped and renamed the salon, Halo.

Said Julie: "We were devastated when we were told the salon would be closing; so when we were offered the chance to buy, the team said they would back us all the way. I went into partnership with Sarah - I knew she would be able to run the salon while I took care of the business side. This is a really exciting time and its going well so far."
