Chris Williams at Rush Hair is one of the UK's leading colourists - here he shares how to copy the red and purple hair colour above with a simple get-the-look.
1. Take a curved triangular section in the front and isolate. Pre-pigmentate the old prelightened sections on the rest of the hair using light blonde, gold and blonde, and copper.
2. Leave to develop for 15 minutes and then shampoo, condition and dry.
3. Prelighten the curved triangular section using a blonde (prelightener) and a back-to-back foiling technique. The underneath of the hair is coloured applying the colour from roots to ends using copper, blonde, copper and blonde, and red copper.
4. The top section of the hair is coloured using a light blonde, gold and blonde, and copper. Leave to develop, then shampoo and condition to even the porosity.
5. Towel-dry the hair and tone the prelightened section using light brown, copper and light blonde, and violet red. This is applied to the root area first and developed for five minutes. Then bleed onto the ends and develop visually to give a soft, diffused appearance.
6. Blow-dry hair with a paddle brush then smooth with irons and spray for hold.
