The key to happiness: To surround yourself with like-minded people and to be successful in your craft. What a place in the F.A.M.E. Team means: With a strong passion for education, this has always been a huge goal of mine. It is the ultimate finishing school for hairdressers and a year of perfecting my craft will be unbelievable. Most looking forward to: Being mentored by huge players in the industry whom I have looked up to for so long, plus simply being part of such a renowned team. The future: I’d like to work towards a more senior role in the Academy, as education is what I’ve always wanted to do. The year ahead as part of the F.A.M.E. Team will be an amazing way to polish my skills and continue my progression. Amelia Evans, Russell Eaton Job description: Currently a Level Two Stylist in the salon, working towards Level Three. Also, Sam McKnight – the guy’s vision is incredible, his work effortless and he always surprises everyone. Dream client: One of them would be J K Rowling. I have been a diehard Harry Potter fan from a very young age and I’d be curious to know how her mind works...She’s very inspiring and creative and I think I could take a lot of advice from her and use it in my career. The key to happiness: A healthy balance of work, family and friends is the key to a happy life. Also doing what you love. I couldn’t imagine going to work and not enjoying my job. What a place on the F.A.M.E. Team means: I have wanted to be a part of this amazing experience since I was 16 and got to know what Robert (Eaton) had achieved - I was instantly desperate to be 21 to try and get in! This year I am finally there! I love working in a team but I am young, so I think I still have a lot to learn - the ideas you come up with can be made better with others people’s suggestions. Most looking forward to: Presenting on stage with my team. I have always been amazed by how polished the F.A.M.E. Team’s work is! The future: In the next five years I want to be a Creative Director at Russell Eaton, moving into the management team to help educate others. Trevor Sorbie's work has always inspired me, particularly the way he revolutionised creative hairdressing at a time where no one else was doing anything similar. Even though I work for him, Darren Ambrose has to be my ultimate hair icon. I grew up being aware of his Avant Garde work and creative skill, but it wasn’t until I worked with him every day that I truly saw his genius. Dream client: It would have been Audrey Hepburn. Effortless beauty is rare and she had it, and being a fashion icon across so many eras would have allowed for so much creativity. The key to happiness: Being able to wake up every day knowing that life is good, and you are surrounded by people in all walks of your life that make you smile. What a place in the F.A.M.E. Team means: Since I started hairdressing, the F.A.M.E team was always my biggest goal; seeing industry icons that were members of past teams, and watching new team members progress within the industry made me realise it is the ultimate team to grow with. I struggle to find the words to describe how happy and proud I am being a member of the 2015 team. Most looking forward to: Every aspect of the experience, including being alongside three other incredible members who all have the same desires to grow and show the strength of young British hairdressing and the Fellowship. The future: I just want to improve, learn from the best and get as many strings to my bow as possible. As I continue to grow both individually and with our team, I hope to be in a place where I can both be seen as humble and successful and to be able to open potential career avenues in our amazing industry. Plus, my boss Bruno Marc Giamattei as I admire the way he cuts hair - he sees it in a totally different light which is really inspiring to watch. I also think Edward Darley is amazing with colour. Dream client: Caroline Flack or Fearne Cotton. I think they are really cool – not too ‘try hard’, just always on trend. The key to happiness: My family What a place on the F.A.M.E. Team means: I have grown up admiring the people who have had the chance to be on it and all the amazing people they get to learn from. It is such an honour to work with like-minded people and I feel this is the way forward for creating new ideas. Most looking forward to: Meeting my mentors and absorbing all of their knowledge and being able to experience all types of opportunities in the industry, which before would have only been a dream.
