Ably assisted by the L'Oréal Professionnel Young Portfolio Artists, Peter's show combined his experience styling hair for couture campaigns with the work of recent Central Saint Martins MA graduate designers for a show which epitomised the evening's mantra of 'Hair Inspired by Fashion'.

Inspired by the diverse fashion corners of the capital and working to a rough brief of 'aliens and animals', Peter's show featured an eclectic range of looks, ranging from sculptural, tribal shapes to delicate feathered headpieces - the result of days of prep by the team.

"It's a real honour to open the show," said Peter. " We wanted to do something very different and are treating hair as a purely creative medium - it's not just about a hairstyle."

With a strong focus on interesting textures, the headpieces were created with a broad range of sculpting materials, well outside the remit of traditional hairdressing products. Wires, epoxies and resins all combined to create the sculptural shapes - and while the results were spectacular, their setting and drying qualities added an extra challenge for the team.

The dramatic couture hairpieces, handmade for each model, were reflected in the outfit choices - handpicked by legendary London stylist and fashion editor of Dazed & Confused, Katie Shillingford. A stunning skintight dress designed by Deborah Milner, head of couture for the late Alexander McQueen, closed the show, concluding Peter's collection with a striking salute to London style.

As Peter and his team took to the stage for a bow, there was one more nod to street culture - as the sixteen-strong group lined up on-stage in white boiler suits, a hooded graffiti artist sprayed L'Oreal Professionnel across their backs for a rousing finale to a formidable presentation. Speaking before the show Peter said that he hoped the crowed were 'wowed' - and as DJ Becky Tong soundtracked their spectacular exit, it's safe to say he got his wish.
