Award-winning stylist Lukas Payne has opened a new boutique salon in Wolverhampton, bringing a luxury hair experience to the city
Officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, alongside Karen Thomas of Revlon Professional, the new Waterloo Road space offers a highly personalised, appointment-only salon experience designed around creativity, connection and client care.
Set within a Victorian property, the salon blends original architectural features with modern interiors, creating a warm, bohemian-inspired space with an exclusive feel. Original fireplaces, flooring and period details have been preserved throughout, alongside bespoke cabinetry and curated interiors. Clients access the studio via intercom, reinforcing the salon’s private, one-to-one approach.

For Lukas, the opening marks a significant personal and professional milestone. After more than 18 years in the industry, he revealed he had considered leaving hairdressing altogether before rediscovering his passion through the Revlon Professional Visionaries programme.
Originally from Poland, Lukas first discovered hairdressing at the age of 11 while helping in his family’s salon, before later moving to the UK and building a successful freelance career. However, years of working independently led to burnout and isolation – something he has since spoken openly about to encourage more conversations around mental wellbeing within the industry.

Known for his bespoke blonding and creative colour work, Lukas has gained industry recognition as part of the winning team for Visionaries Re-Mastered 2025. He is also a Revlon Professional Colour Specialist 2025, a double finalist at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards and has showcased his work at Salon International.
Speaking about the launch, Lukas said: “Opening Lukas Payne | Hair Studio feels incredibly emotional because just over a year ago, I honestly thought I was leaving hairdressing for good. This salon represents a completely new chapter for me – not just professionally, but personally too. I wanted to create a space that feels calm, welcoming and genuinely personal, where clients can enjoy a luxury experience but also feel comfortable and cared for.”
He added: “The biggest thing I’ve learnt is how important connection is in this industry. Hairdressing can sometimes feel isolating, especially when you work independently, and I want this space to become somewhere that celebrates creativity, education and community as much as beautiful hair.”

Councillor Craig Collingswood, Mayor of Wolverhampton, said: “I’m delighted to be here to celebrate the opening of Lukas Payne | Hair Studio in Wolverhampton, a city that continues to thrive as a vibrant place to socialise, do business and grow. This studio brings something truly unique to the area: a bespoke one-to-one salon experience that feels both luxurious and accessible.”
The launch event welcomed guests from across the local community and hair industry, marking the arrival of a salon focused on combining premium hairdressing with a personalised client experience.
