Hunter Collective, the pioneering co-working salon space founded in 2016, has announced its closure on 2 December.
Co-Founder Lacey Hunter-Felton, entrepreneur, educator and hairdresser reflects on a dynamic 8 years of fostering co-work spaces and growing a global community.
All HC members have been informed of the upcoming brand's closure.
"Carving a niche with a first to market co-working space for freelance hair professionals; Hunter Collective has set a benchmark and blueprint for what has become a thriving market sector," she writes in a statement issued by the brand.
In 2016 Lacey founded Hunter Collective with her business partner Nico Bonfiglioli. The original membership for solo hairdressers embarking on their own entrepreneurial journey; Hunter Collective created a collection of multifunctional spaces. With London sites in Farringdon, Spitalfields and most recently Rosebery, the brand aimed to push beyond the chair to accommodate personal brand development and commercial collaborations.
Hunter Collective pioneered concepts that placed its membership at the centre of its business, delivering inclusive Hubs, content creation Labs and coining the phrase ‘Brand Neutral’ across its locations.
"I feel very proud of what we’ve achieved as a Collective; our Members and our HCTeam have shown guts and compassion beyond expectation," she shares.
"I am proud of myself, as a hairdresser, stepping out from behind the chair 8 years ago, backing myself with the launch of a new way of working, that has enabled so many hairdressing friends to find their own feet and find their own paths.”
The dream to grow a community of talented artists who feel connected and empowered, independently and in collaboration, has been realised.
