Fifty-five hair and beauty salons from South Yorkshire are celebrating after being recognised for good practice as part of Habia’s Health and Safety Awards. Habia’s Health and Safety Award, which is delivered in partnership with the NHF, the Health and Safety Executive and participating local authorities, is designed to raise awareness of health and safety issues and improve standards within hair and beauty salons. To achieve the award, salons must achieve the criteria set out in an 18 point plan. Salons hold the award for one year before they need to reapply to ensure standards are maintained. Alan Goldsbro said: "I am always pleased to see salons that have worked hard and strived to achieve the highest standards being recognised for their effort. "Good health and safety is good business practice, as it shows your professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to highest standards in every aspect of what you do."
