Ghd guide to the season spring/summer 2014 launches Sam McKnight, Zoe Irwin and Kenna present the ghd Guide to the Seasons Spring/Summer 2014 ghd launched their Spring/Summer 2014 Guide to the Seasons with an intimate dinner at Browns Hotel hosted by their three creative directors; Sam McKnight, Zoe Irwin and Kenna. Zoe introduced the evening by explaining that this season, more than ever, the trends that they were presenting were influenced by street style moments as well as key catwalk looks for a youthful energy with grown-up polish. "Hair has come from a feeling, rather than a silhouette," she says. "It can't be pinned down to a specific era, but instead falls under a street-feel umbrella." The key trends identified by ghd for the Spring/Summer 2014 season are; Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2014 - hair by Sam McKnight for ghd Poetic Pilgrim - texture brings a modern update to romantic, historical updos. As seen at Vivienne Westwood, where Sam McKnight created towering textured structures. David Koma Spring/Summer 2014 - hair by Kenna for ghd Samurai Warrioress - sleek, origami-inspired ponytails with pleats, hidden folds and clean sections. "We've been a bit scruffy for a while," Kenna said of the look he created at David Koma. "It's time to get technical with hair again." Zoe Jordan Spring/Summer 2014 - hair by Kenna for ghd Kick Flip - grown-up skater girls whose hair falls into naturally textured waves, as seen at Zoe Jordan. "Think hair that was caught in the rain yesterday and now it looks cool," said Kenna. "It's a Saturday afternoon hair from a Friday-night blow dry." Marios Schwab Spring/Summer 2014 - hair by Sam McKnight for ghd New Young Pony Club - ponytails gain an extra dimension through folds and exquisite accessories, as seen in the pleated style created by Sam McKnight at Marios Schwab. Side parted and smooth from the front, with the beginnings of a braid clamped with a rose gold clip at the back. PPQ Spring/Summer 2014 - hair by Kenna for ghd Dare to Love Me - princess hair gets a tough-girl update for the new season, with gang looks and tribal influences contradicting high quality hair. At PPQ, hair was healthy, long and beautiful, but styled into badass beehives from the front with a hard, lacquered look. Urban Pristine - Pristine hair but with a tough, urban edge. As Lucas Nascimento, Kenna created clean and simple locks with a wet-look wedge of comb indentations around the front. "She has just come out of hte bathroom and her hair is wet-look, raked-back and centre-parted," said Kenna. "It has loose bits at the side but it's certainly not scruffy."
