When hairdresser Danielle Blakeley came up with the concept of the Lineaire shoot she drew inspiration from graffiti art prevalent on the roads and alleyways of central Melbourne.
She looked at the combination of strong architectural lines and freehand spray-painting prevalent in street art and set out to reflect this in her hair work; the freehand nature of urban graffiti set in a strong, structural environment.
The shoot comprises hairstyles which feature strong colour work, creatively formed using freehand techniques. Mimicking the graffiti artist, many who draw upon their built environment while using a totally freehand method of applying their art, her work is a totally modern take on both cut and colour.
