Electric Hair Edinburgh is set to open in Spring 2014; a sixth salon for owner and creative director Mark Woolley.
The salon will be located in Harvey Nichols, which is situated on St Andrew Square with far reaching views over the city of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
With existing salons already in London, Brighton,
Liverpool, Reading and Oxford, the Electric Hair brand also comprises an award-winning education academy, studio and haircare range.
Talking about their Scottish expansion, Mark comments: "Our brand synergy with Harvey Nichols is growing from strength to strength and I am immensely proud to be opening our doors in Edinburgh this spring. The Electric Hair Edinburgh team will be headed up by Scott Fairbairn who I have worked closely with for more than eight years. Scott is an extremely talented and creative stylist and he’s keen to get started and show Edinburgh what we can do."
HJ’s deputy editor Matthew Batham caught up with founder of Electric, Mark Woolley to speak to him exclusively about this latest venture.
Why was Edinburgh the best choice for the latest venture?
The plan for the Electric brand was always to open a select number of salons in key cities; Edinburgh is one of the most exciting, cultural and beautiful cities in Britain. It's a city of contrast, rich in history with its atmospheric cobbled streets to its shopping, cafe culture and vibrant bars, we feel honoured and thrilled to be opening an Electric salon within Harvey Nichols in the heart Edinburgh.
What are the advantages of working alongside a brand like Harvey Nichols?
Our brand synergy with Harvey Nichols has gone from strength to strength. It is an amazing brand to partner with and the stores have an exceptional clientele that are loving the Electric haircare range and hair services.
How hands on will you be with this new venture?
I am hands on with all Electric ventures, I have always put one of our key people from Electric into run our new salons, and one of my key roles is working one-to-one with each of the salon's managers mentoring them and their teams -Scott Fairburn has worked closely with me for the past eight years and I have every confidence he is going to take this challenge head on and become a very successful salon manager.
