Amy Adams had some of the
most memorable hair of the 2014 Golden Globes, complementing
her slash-front Valentino gown with a plaited updo.
While the dress was a nod the 1970s mood of
American Hustle - for which Amy won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical - Amy avoided looking too costumey by keeping her hair fresh and modern.
Styled in two scalp plaits and secured in a textured bun high at the back of the head, for a romantic look which takes nothing away from the gown.
Here Jake Unger from HOB Salons Education and Creative Team shows you how to recreate the look in the salon...
1. Section the hair in a center parting
2. Apply Alterna Texturising Dust to help give a more boho, undone finish.
3. Do two scalp plaits either side that meet in the middle at the crown
4. Twist the hair at the back into a bun and fix with grips and pins.

Girls may have missed out on a gong, but Lena Dunham and her gang made it to the top of our
2014 Golden Globes best-tressed list.
Allison Williams dazzled with a sleek side-parted poker straight style, with the graphic lines in her hair and makeup reflecting the pattern in her Alexander McQueen monochrome gown.
Styled in a low parting and finished with straightening irons for a totally sleek look, this look has a timeless feel.
Jake Unger from HOB Salons reveals how to get the look...
1. Make sure hair is shampooed and conditioned using Wella SP Hydrate, then place hair into a deep side parting.
2. Blow-dry the hair as smooth as possible with minimal root lift, then use straightening irons to smooth the cuticle further.
3. Spray the hair with a good hairspray such as Sebastian Shaper Fierce, then tightly place a hair net over the top and use a diffuser to flatten down the top of the hair to give a smoother head hugging shape.
4. Finish with Alterna Rapid Repair spray for that perfect shine.

Emma Roberts was another red carpet favourite at the 2014 Golden Globes, pairing her
plunging black Lanvin dress with a sleek, side-parted style - which allowed those mega blue earrings talk centre stage.
A low ponytail styled at the nape was the perfect finishing touch, lending a girly edge to this otherwise minimal, slightly masculine style.
Seama Eftekhari of Nine Zero One salon in West Hollywood created the look - here he shares how he did it.
1. Spray UNITE 7SECONDS Condition throughout the hair then apply LAZER Straight from the roots to ends to help relax the hair and add shine.
2. Blow dry hair straight and apply U LUXURY OIL to add heat protection and instant shine
3. Flat iron hair in small sections then create a side parting; a light mist of MAXCONTROL Hairspray will smooth and hold the hair.
4. Create a low ponytail and smooth U LUXURY MOISTURE & SHINE to create a sleek, smooth pony. Finish with an overall mist of SESSION-MAX to hold the look all night!

Zooey Deschanel switched things up from her usual long straight look with an elegant side-chignon - the perfect pairing for her vintage-inspired
Oscar de la Renta crop-top and skirt combo.
It's been great to see Zooey switching things up on the red carpet with her hair lately - remember that
faux bob from the Academy Awards?
Cole Stanley, artistic director at Nicola Smyth Award Winning Hair explains how to get Zooey’s feminine side bun:
1. Spray the hair with KMS FREESHAPE Hot Flex Crème and curl using big tongs.
2. Use a soft brush to smooth the hair to one side, secure with a band into a ponytail and use medium hairspray to help fix it in place.
3. Take pieces of the hair and, working with the curls, roll them up using your fingers into a side bun. Use grips to secure.
4. Once all the hair is secured, finish with KMS HAIRSTAY Maximum Hold Hairspray, pop in a flower and voilà, a pretty style à la Zooey.

Amber Heard took styling to new heights at the 2014 Golden Globes with an elaborately teased quiff adding the inches to her style. Finished at the back in a bun, the look is almost reminiscent of
a Gibson Girl roll!
Here, Cole Stanley, artistic director at Nicola Smyth Award Winning Hair explains how to achieve Amber’s dishevelled updo:
1. Work KMS HAIRPLAY Sea Salt Spray and ADDVOLUME Styling Foam through the hair.
2. Dry the products in the hair using a hairdryer, shaping with your fingers to achieve texture.
3. Using a back-combing brush, work through the hair creating body.
4. Gently use the back-combing brush to bring the hair up and grip in place.
5. Finish with medium hold hairspray to lock the look in place.

Jennifer Lawrence's blonde crop was
one of the most talked-about looks of 2013 and we're excited to see how she dresses it throughout award season.
She's already won one award for her role in American Hustle, so it's fairly certain that we're going to be seeing plenty more of JLaw - and that hair - throughout the next few weeks.
Here, Cole Stanley, artistic director at Nicola Smyth Award Winning Hair explains how to achieve Jennifer’s sleek look:
1. Start by spraying a texturising spray into damp hair.
2. Blow-dry using a small paddle brush to smooth down the sides and back. Use your fingers to create texture through the top sections.
3. Get an extra sleek finish by running irons over the hair.
4. Finish with KMS HAIRPLAY playable texture and a small amount of moulding paste to capture Jennifer’s defined style.

Nina Dobrev attended the Warner Bros and InStyle afterparty, looking smoldering in a plunging crystal-encrusted Armani gown.
Perfectly complementing the sultry nature of her dress, Nina's hair had a super-sexy tousled feel, created by Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One Salon, West Hollywood - who dubbed it 'perfectly f-d up'.
Here's how she got the look...
1. Shampoo and Condition hair with U LUXURY Shampoo and Condition to smooth and seal the cuticle.
2. Spray UNITE 7SECONDS Condition throughout wet hair then apply BLOW&SET from roots to ends. Roughly blow dry.
3. When hair is dry, spray BEACH Day throughout to add texture and blow-dry again with the head upside-down for lift and texture.
4. Wrap each hair section around a 1 1/4 iron leaving the last two inches loose. Sprinkle EXPANDA Dust throughout the hair with an emphasis 1 to 3 inches from the root for overall extreme texture and lift.
5. Mist U LUXURY Color Protectant Hair Perfume with the "Bianca" fragrance for the finishing red-carpet touch.
