Catwalk to red carpet: pixie lott's gold leaf parting

First spotted on the catwalk at Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2014, Pixie Lott rocked her own interpretation of a gold leaf parting at the 2015 National Television Awards. Created  by Pixie's regular hairdresser Holly Rudge, the look sees gold-leaf artfully applied to a side parting for a whole new way of bringing a bit of sparkle to a style. Legendary session stylist Sam McKnight was behind the look at Dries Van Noten. Again, hair was worn in a strict centre parting with the glimmering gold leaf adding an unexpected edge. To achieve the finish, gold leaf was mixed with hair wax and painted on carefully with a fine brush. With gold leaf parting appearing a mini trend and glitter partings taking over Pinterest and the catwalk, perhaps clients don't need to worry quite so much about getting those roots done quite so regularly!
