Love it or leave it: nicole richie with pink hair

One of our favourite colour chameleons has switched things up again - but what do you make of Nicole Richie with pink hair? Previously sporting a rather fetching shade of navy blue, it feels like a long time since we've seen Nicole with her natural blonde. Pink has been a popular choice with celebrities over the last few years, but unlike the pastel shades we've seen so much of recently, this punchy pink isn't for the faint at heart. Vibrant colours are the speciality of Daniel Moon, Nicole's regular colourist. Based at Andy LeCompte Salon in Beverly Hills, Daniel is a creative colour guru who also counts Kylie Jenner amongst his bold-and-beautiful clients. Clayde Baumann, creative colour director at D&J Ambrose says: "This was an interesting choice for Miss Richie. Nicole has been pink before and I personally think she did it better the first time. Additionally - and ironically - she was pictured with her new look next to high fashion colour aficionado, Katie Perry, who I think has also executed these outlandish colours in a more beautiful way.  This tone could potentially grow out or rinse out to a far more 'stonewashed' or distilled effect that would suit current fashion trends. It's a fun look for the dyed-in-the-wool Richie fans but I think she should be aiming for something a touch more sophisticated. "To achieve a more distilled matte version of this colour that is current, I'd make use of the innovative dusty semi permanent range from Wella, Instamatic. I'd take the look further by mottling in other grungy shades or even add pockets of a neutral brunette to give it a less contrived finish." What do you make Nicole's new 'do?   [Images: Rex Features]
