Before the British Hairdresser of the Year was announced at this year's British Hairdressing Awards, the nominees gave a live presentation, incorporating their interpretation of 'Oscar's Glamour'.
Each finalist presented two models, demonstrating the eclectic range of skills and unique talent which make up this category.

Errol Douglas opened the show with two avant garde models, who reflected the urban fashion feel of his collection. One model prowled the stage with a towering updo, the other had a disconnected bob, with flashes of neon orange and purple.

Tim Hartley's presentation followed, with a nod to classic Hollywood glamour. Swathed in diamonds, the blonde and redhead models gave a flirty presentation, which embodied powerful female icons.

The audience then enjoyed a presentation by Mark Hayes, who demonstrated the beautiful geometric shapes that Sassoon is famed for. The first model had a graphic bob in this season's must-have shade of red, while the second had a shorter head-hugging style in pearlescent blonde.

Hooker & Young brought the stage to life with a muscular male dancer, accompanied by a Geisha girl-inspired model. Her intricate updo incorporated crimping, buns, and accessories for a modern Madame Butterfly feel.

Akin Konizi was next with classic HOB looks. Two crops demonstrated the versatility and artistry of short hair, with intricate layers, rounded fringes, and geometric shapes adding a trademark twist to classic styles.

Two very different looks made up Angelo Seminara's show. The first style was a braided updo, woven through with gold brocade, while the second featured contrasting sections of sleek and texture. As a final flourish, one model transformed the other's hair live on stage.

Phil Smith closed the show with two wig-inspired looks, featuring crimping and chunky texture. A blonde bob shape was contrasted by a dark look, formed in to a hat shape.
