The grand final of Wella Trend Vision 2014 has taken place in Frankfurt, Germany, with Taiwan and Ukraine taking home the top awards.
Taiwan was crowned winner in the Live Vision Young Talent Platinum Award, with Ukraine clinching the Live Vision Color Platinum Award. The United Kingdom, represented by Sean Nolan from HOB Salons, took home second place.
Finalists from more than 50 countries presented their colourful interpretations of the trends Decibel, Allegra, Echo and Fusion on the night. The competitors were tasked with recreating their look in a live competition environment, which was then judged by a prestigious panel including Josh Wood, Eugene Soulieman and Sonya Dove.
This year saw the introduction of the Photo Vision Award in two categories: Young Talent Award for styling excellence and the Color Award for outstanding talent in hair colouring. These were awarded to New Zealand and Hungary respectively. Second place was taken by Lucy Tuck from Marc Antoni Salons.
Back by popular demand was host and long hair guru, Patrick Cameron, who oversaw proceedings including the annual Parade of Nations, which energetically opened the event. The audience of more than 1,500 international hairdressers and press were also treated to two shows by Bundy Bundy and Dmitry Vinokurov, who wowed with his bright colours, alien-like textures and exaggerated shapes.
This year the International Trend Vision Award took place during Hairworld, the global competition with disciplines in Ladies and Men's cuts and styling.
