Pacific Ocean Green
"This was inspired by a shot of the Pacific Ocean meeting the sand, Young American-era David Bowie and ska punk. This creates layers which are revealed each time you look at it."
Beautiful Lines
"This was from a passion project called Variations on aTheme, which combined a graduated haircut with a classic French pleat to create a look that shouldn’t work, but does."
Riding The Wave
"Gelled panels accented by a Marcel-inspired wave were captured outside in Italy’s natural light. Finding a dress which gave composition and balance to the hair was challenging."
Fall In Line
"This was the first image of mine that anyone paid any attention to. I got the idea during a haircut in the salon when the sectioning pattern I had created made an interesting shape."
Brooklyn Heights
"During the course of a cut many contrasting shapes and lengths are created. This was shot in Brooklyn for my story Ideas on North 11th Street, capturing the stages of a person’s haircut."
Graduation Day
"I wanted this to feel like a carving out of a piece of wood. The idea of graduating up and reverse graduating down had been in my mind for a while. This is one of my favourite images I’ve created."
Japanese Garden
"I was inspired by raked sand patterns in Japanese Karesansui gardens, combined with a flat top. This re-framed two things that wouldn't normally meet."
