The third edition of Davines Talent Green House, an 18-month global mentoring and creative development program for aspiring hairdressers, reached its finale in October 2024. Led by Candice McKay – art director and co-creator – the program celebrates the participants' journey, culminating in a collaborative showcase at the Davines World Wide Hair Tour (WWHT).

The Davines Talent Green House, launched in March 2020, is a global program aimed at nurturing the next generation of hairdressing talent. It offers an inclusive opportunity for aspiring hairdressers worldwide, without entry fees or professional photography requirements.

Over 18 months, 100 selected participants engage in online modules on social media, trend forecasting, conceptualisation and design principles, conceived to enhance both technical skills and creative leadership, fostering personal and professional growth. The program's impact is evident, establishing a new standard for nurturing and showcasing creative talent in the hairdressing industry.

Master Mentors and the Power of Mentorship

The heart of Talent Green House program is its commitment to mentorship, with participants receiving personalised guidance from a distinguished team of master mentors. These industry experts provided their expertise and creative insights helping participants refine their artistic visions, preparing them for the competitive and collaborative demands of the hairdressing industry. Among the Talent Green House mentors are industry legend Robert Lobetta, Vishal Baharani, Richard Ashforth, Yohan Nicolas, Annie Ankervik, Richard Jordan, Marriet Gakes, Danny Pato, Jesus Oliver, Brian Suhr, Kirsten Demant, Henry Tse, and Zoe Ong.

The Final Showdown in Berlin

The Talent Green House culminated at the Davines World Wide Hair Tour 2024 that took place in Berlin from October 6 to 8, 2024. The top 10 finalists showcased their interpretations of the Davines Hair Identity during the WWHT welcome dinner on October 6. Judges included Davines Hair Art Director, Tom Connell, Candice Mckay, Anna Pacitto, Sam Burnett and Robert Lobetta.

The Winner of Davines Talent Green House 2024

On the final day of Davines World Wide Hair Tour, Ben Grace was announced as the winner of Talent Green House 2024, for his exceptional cultural interpretation of the Davines Hair Identity. He was praised for being able to reimagine a classic style with innovative, raw techniques, while respecting his model and authentically reflecting her personality. His haircut demonstrated a keen sensitivity and intuition for emerging trends.

Grown up in the French Alps, Ben began his hairdressing journey in Annecy after convincing a teacher to accept his application, despite missing the deadline. Ten years ago, he returned to London after receiving a job offer in Shoreditch, marking the start of his London career. Now he’s a proud member of the education team at Radio London.

Any Davines hairstylists can enrol, regardless of location or language. The Talent Green House stands out for its innovative approach to creative development, focusing on community, mentorship, and collaboration.
