Timely has appointed Kaine Vakai as a brand ambassador, formalising its relationship with one of the hair industry's most active global educators and a salon operator with an established presence in the UK market.
In under 42 months, Kaine has delivered more than 127 education classes across the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and New Zealand. He is the founder and Creative Director of Haus of Vakai, a business spanning salon services, education and product development, and also holds an International Creative Artist role with Redken.
Timely said Kaine's appointment reflects how it is building its ambassador programme around salon operators and educators who already use the software in their own businesses and can speak to its day-to-day value.
Kaine first adopted Timely when he was looking for a booking system that could support the way Haus of Vakai operates. The business now uses Timely across bookings, client records and reporting, with pre-consultation forms, aftercare messages and two-way messaging among the features used in day-to-day salon operations.
"Becoming an ambassador of Timely feels like a more formal version of a relationship we already had," said Kaine. "The pre-consultation feature helps us gather information from clients before they arrive so the team can prepare properly. We also use aftercare messages and the two-way messaging system a lot, because it keeps communication with clients easy and in one place."
Timely provides appointment booking, payments and client management software for small businesses in the hair, beauty and wellness industries. Founded in New Zealand in 2011, it now serves close to 30,000 customers across more than 100 countries.
Sherri Ponisi, ANZ Partnerships at Timely, said Kaine's work as both an educator and salon operator made him a strong fit for the programme.
"Through his work behind the chair, on stage and in classrooms around the world, Kaine has consistently shared knowledge in a practical way that helps hairdressers improve both their craft and their business," said Sherri. "That matters to us, because we want ambassadors who are using the software in real salon environments and can show how it supports the client experience and the operational side of the business."
The appointment adds a salon operator and educator with active UK industry reach to Timely's ambassador programme as the company expands its presence across the hair, beauty and wellness sector.
