As the official hairdresser to The X Factor, Jamie Stevens is our man on the inside. In an exclusive weekly column, he tells us which hairstyles from the live shows he loves the most.With week one getting off to an explosive start - and not all of the makeovers even revealed just yet - we caught up with Jamie to find out which look he loved the most in week one; and which contestant he thinks is set to become this year's most-copied.
"My look of the week Jade Ellis - her hair was inspired by Marilyn Monroe meets Rita Ora. She has such a distinct look and we wanted to maintain this so we created tram lines on the shorter side of her head to add a real edge.
"After blow-drying her natural hair with a medium-sized round bristle brush using texture cream and blow-dry cream we tonged her natural hair with medium tongs, spraying each section with Hair Lock Hairspray to give the curls long-lasting hold.
"After preparing Jade's hair extensions and backcombing her natural hair for grip, we clipped them in and tonged them, before gently dressing the curls out for a messy textured, disheveled wave. She looked amazing and was my hair hero of the first week, as the transformation from short to long was beautiful."
