Project Wales: The Latest Regional Project from the Fellowship for British Hairdressing

Updated on 17th Feb 2026 by Josie Jackson

After the success of Project Scotland, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing were delighted to announce the expansion of their regional projects with the launch of Project Wales.

Project Wales Leader, Casey Coleman set out with the goal of giving Welsh Fellowship members the opportunity to experience the best of Wales’ iconic industry figures.

“For years, Welsh artists spend £1000’s on travel to London for opportunities, events, education and shows, so to lead the first ever industry project solely for Welsh members is honestly an absolute dream and proof of the progression the Fellowship are making,” said Casey.

“As hairstylists, we don’t go to university, so projects like this really do help elevate and celebrate hairstylists who often feel forgotten about or don’t know how to get access to incredible industry opportunities.”

To kick off their year, Project Wales travelled to Casey’s salon, CHAIR salons in Cardiff, for a double-header. First, the team had an induction day with Casey and Project Support, Kim Nicole Jones, delving into what’s in store over the next 12 months.

Casey then led a lively social media masterclass filled with practical tips and insights to boost the team’s online skills. Aimee Phillips from Aimee’s @ Chiron commented that her first day with the team has given her a newfound sense of confidence to achieve her goals, and to not be scared of new opportunities. She added: “Having a team of fellow Welsh hairdressers who support one another is so inspiring.”

For day two, Project Wales focused on creative cutting, joined by ASP Ambassador Jon Aherne. This session gave project members the chance to get hands-on with their practical skills, learning and collaborating on new techniques, whilst also having the opportunity to ask plenty of questions. Anya O’Callaghan from Spirit Hair Team said: “I loved the cutting session with Jon – it pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to be creative with the way I approach cutting, whilst also following a structured guide.”
