The British Beauty Council has announced the appointment of Nicky Pope as its new Hair Committee Chair, marking a significant moment for the hairdressing industry as the Council enters a new phase of growth and strategic development.
Dedicated to solving beauty's shared challenges by by engaging with policy makers and industry stakeholders, the British Beauty Council continues to evolve its leadership to reflect the needs of a fast-changing industry.
Nicky Pope, Founder of Tribu-te and Colour World, brings extensive experience across hairdressing, barbering and creative education. In her new role, Pope will lead the restructuring of the Hair Committee, ensuring it aligns closely with the Council’s strategic goals while championing the voice of the professional hair industry at a national level.
Joining Pope on the restructured Hair Committee are a diverse group of industry leaders and practitioners, including Dom Capel, Edward Hemmings, Grant Carr, Hadley Yates, Leah Hill, Lauralyn Clinton, Louis Byrne, Oliver Blackaby, Paul Yates, Phill Gallagher, Robert Eaton, Sharon Brigden, Tendai Moyo, Vivienne Johns and Josh Miller. Together, the committee aims to bring fresh perspectives, practical insight and collective strength to the Council’s work in hair.
The appointment forms part of a wider series of leadership announcements for 2026. Camilla Kay joins the Council’s leadership team as Director of Communications and Events, bringing her experience as former Executive Editor at Glamour UK to oversee digital communications, media relations and activations. David MacDonald, Vice President of Sustainability & HR Business Planning at Walgreens and Talent Pillar President, has been appointed Ambassador for Men, driving a renewed focus on men’s grooming and its socio-economic impact. Jessica Hewitt, Global Head of Beauty & Wellness at UNiDAYS, steps into the role of Education and Talent Pillar President following her work on the Student Shadow Board initiative.
Commenting on the appointments, British Beauty Council CEO Millie Kendall OBE said: “Over the last six years, we have worked hard to solidify the foundations of the Council.
