The beauty of dry cutting by michael van clarke I have always suffered from dry, frizzy, lifeless curls and thought you could never go wrong when it came to having a haircut. Curls hide a multitude of sins - but do they really? After years of having conventional wet haircuts I had my eyes opened to a new world of dry cutting, courtesy of Michael Van Clarke. He promised to give me an expensive haircut (but without the price tag) and would make me look ten years younger. michael-van-clarkeAfter having my hair washed and blow-dried into its natural state, Michael showed me how a dry cut would enhance what nature gave me. "At the moment your hair looks like it is having a fight with itself and losing," he said. Working in sections he made my grown-out layers symmetrical, and my finer right side look as thick and healthy as the rest of my hair. Then dampening it down it was diffuse-dried and instead of uncontrollable frizz , I now have defined, smooth curls. It's as if he has tamed and trained an angry beast which has breathed a sign of relief that finally someone understands how to make it behave. Cutting hair is the one thing that every guest in the salon has and making sure it is bespoke to the hair and face will ensure a client for life. There will always be a place for wet cutting but I now believe there is definitely a place for dry cutting e on every salon service menu too.
