Take sustainable steps today with l'oréal professional products

As the planet continues to face ever-evolving challenges L'Oréal launched L'Oréal For The Future, outlining their sustainability commitments towards 2030.

As part of these commitments, L'Oréal Professional Products launched Hairstylists For The Future, a dedicated programme to support all salons and stylists on their own sustainability journey across 5 key pillars: Preserving Natural Resources, Managing Water Sustainably and Fighting Climate Change, all applied through Designing Sustainable Salon Spaces and Building a Community of Sustainability Advocates.

Since it’s launch in 2020 the Hairstylists For The Future programme has established key partnerships with industry experts to support professionals across the 5 pillars, including Green Salon Collective to help salons with sustainable waste management solutions and an Energy Broker to support salons in finding renewable energy providers to reduce their carbon footprint. More recently L'Oréal's partnership with Swiss technology company Gjosa has seen the development of the L'Oréal Water Saver shower head, designed to reduce water at the backwash and available at the backwash and available to salons across the UK & Ireland from early 2023.

Complimentary learning plans and resources are also available to all via L’Oréal’s 24/7 online learning platform, L’Oréal Access, including the brand new Hairstylists For The Future E-Learning.

Consisting of three 10 minute modules, the Hairstylists For The Future learning plan focuses on Water, Waste and Carbon Footprint and is free and available to all on L'Oréal Access. This mobile-first design has been developed to support any hairstylist, anywhere on their own sustainability journey.

Participants will gain an understanding of:
  • What makes up our water, waste and carbon footprint?
  • Why is it important for us to reduce our water, waste and carbon footprint in salons?
  • How can you help to reduce your water, waste and carbon footprint as a hairstylist?
On completion of the E-Learning, participants will have the option to download a ‘Social Sticker’ that can be displayed across their social channels, raising awareness of the sustainable steps they are taking and encouraging sustainable actions amongst their clients and community. Salons and stylists play a huge role in their communities and by developing their knowledge, building confidence and committing to sustainable change, they have the power to influence the decisions of those around them and advocate for more sustainable practices amongst their clients too. ‘A great starting place is education. Upskilling and educating yourself on sustainability leads to knowledge and power you can then pass on to your teams and your clients, leading to a more sustainable world’  Neil Moodie Neil Moodie ‘Having knowledge is key, it’s really allowing me to understand the impact a salon has. I’m learning about the little things that I can do that allow me to run my business more sustainably and that is invaluable.’ Adam Reed, Adam Reed London Adam Reed Start your sustainability journey today on L’Oréal Access.
