Socks: the new hair donut

There are few things we can thank Miley Cyrus for these days, but one thing we should be grateful for is her insistence on bringing back this quirky punk-come-futuristic double bun look, made popular by no other than Gwen Stefani back in the 90s. Elena was sporting a supersized version of the hair knots when I spotted her shopping in Horley – and I was surprised when she admitted her styling tool of choice was... a pair of socks. "When you don’t have any hair donuts to hand, a good way to make a bun is by cutting a hole in the end of a pair of socks, then putting your hair through it like you would a donut," she continued, "it works quite well because it makes more of a messy shape compared to a real hair donut." I’m not so sure even Gwen Stefani could make sock-hair catch on. Well, maybe…
