The Schwarzkopf Professional Creative Competition 2014 saw the Identity Hair team from Northampton crowned as overall winners, following an action-packed live finale at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
Sixteen salon groups from across the country competed in the grand final, which saw groups of four present their take on Spring/Summer 2014 trends. Salon owners and managers were not permitted to help and teams were tasked with presenting a colour model and male model as well as two other looks - all within a tight four-minute time limit.
HJi's web editor Rachael Gibson, Neil Atkinson from Mahogany Hair and Andy Smith from John Carne Hair were the trio of judges tasked with picking a winner - with Identity Hair unanimously taking the title. Their military-fused take on rock 'n' roll saw striking colour, strong shapes and clever dressing, all of which wowed the panel.
Also picking up prizes on the night were Hensmans Salons in the Colour category, Cross and Co for their Men's hair and John Gillespie Hair for Presentation Skills.
The evening also saw a presentation of the latest Schwarzkopf Professional Essential Looks collection by the newly-formed Young Artistic Team, who in little over a week put together a creative and cohesive show to kick off the evening.
