Professional haircare distributor, Salon Promotions, has unveiled its complete educational course prospectus for 2024 with some new additions.
Founded in 2009 by Neil Capstick, Salon Promotions provides high-quality brands to salons across the UK. Last year, it celebrated five years since the opening of its on-site academy, ideal for offering training solutions and events for hair professionals.
After sell-out success across its 2023 courses, the team at Salon Promotions has curated a new extensive education prospectus for 2024. It includes three additional courses, new and improved content for existing courses and the introduction of online masterclasses.
The courses span across TikTok trending cuts, formulation experimentation, bridal styling, personal growth, salon management and more. They will primarily be hosted at Salon Promotion’s state-of-the-art academy in Lancashire base and led by a variety of educators including a fully qualified team of experienced stylists, salon owners, lecturers and educators.
For those looking to strengthen their skillset from further afield, the usual academy to salon option is available across Lancashire, Yorkshire, North East, Cumbria and Cheshire. Furthermore, online classes are now an option which offers further flexibility and may prove particularly beneficial to freelance stylists.
A few of the latest stand-out courses are listed below.
Online Masterclasses: £89 - £125
Want to further your education without the need to travel? Immerse yourself in the world of online learning from home, hosted by the usual team of world-class educators at Salon Promotions. Unlock creative potential with the brand-new online masterclasses, from learning the art of colouring to expanding social media knowledge, these courses leave no strand unturned. As part of the online experience, stylists can access downloadable training guides, join the supportive SP community and online chat groups, and get involved with events like live Q&As. Courses run from January through to November.
Create with Confidence: £199
This intermediate level course is ideal for anyone who’s tired of using the same techniques and formulations when working with colour day-to-day. It covers a range of topics including colour placement, how to approach creative shades with hue, saturation and pastelisation, and tips for decoding client inspiration pictures. This will enable you to make confident colour choices for your client and create successful and unique results. The one day in-person course will last from 10am to 4.30pm at the academy, with two dates available in June and September.

Paul Thompson - Bridge the Gap: £199
Paul Thompson is the UK Creative Director for Elevation H, global hair education company. The purpose of Elevation H is to 'bridge the gap' between qualified and salon ready, and it specialises in apprenticeship programmes. This is a wonderful opportunity for stylists to spend the day with an international educator who will eliminate the fears of being newly qualified and teach them how to become profitable on the salon floor. This course doesn’t require a certain level of experience to get involved and is an interactive experience where attendees are encouraged to ask questions and collaborate. Two dates in May and June are available for this one day session, running from 10am to 4.30pm.
Paul Thompson - TikTok Tips: £199
Paul Thompson’s TikTok Tips course delves into some of the platform’s biggest hair trends, hacks and advice, bringing them to life in a classroom setting. This is another course accessible to all levels and has been designed to offer stylists real-life experiences with some of the viral moments they’ve felt inspired by over the past year. It teaches them valuable skills to apply to the next biggest social media trend. Running from 10am to 4.30pm, there are two dates available at the academy in April and June.

Bridal Masterclass (Beginners or Advanced): £249
An existing course, Bridal Masterclass has been updated for the 2024 prospectus to cater better to different levels of experience amongst stylists, with a beginners and advanced class option available. Both are priced the same and will run as a full day session at the academy at 10am to 4.30pm. The Beginners’ course will take place in March and the Advanced will be in July, perfect for anyone looking to take on the challenge of a crash course in Bridal. For beginners, training will focus on essentials like hair prep and bridal styling techniques. The advanced class will touch more on how to find your signature looks and build a portfolio.
Neil Capstick, Managing Director at Salon Promotions, comments: “We’re proud that 2023 was such a success with the Salon Promotions education courses like Colour Maters, Blonde Perfection and Pixie & Wolf fully selling out. This showed us the huge demand for accessible training opportunities for UK hair stylists. We are now extremely excited to be able to expand the training we offer yet again to help both aspiring and qualified stylists catapult their careers. Our newest courses offer a diverse range of training, from supporting stylists in creating some of the biggest hair trends we’re seeing right now with a particular focus on TikTok, to teaching them self-confidence when navigating their journey from newly qualified through to experienced. I’m most proud of our development in online classes, as we endeavour to ensure our training is accessible to all within the industry.”
