David Maxwell, owner of David Maxwell Hairdressing in Bath, has recently returned from a
Kevin Murphy photo shoot in South Africa, which he won as part of the KEVIN.MURPHY Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.
The five day trip was hosted by Kevin Murphy himself with the aim being to inspire and encourage stylist and salon owners across the globe give them the chance to experience, first-hand, the world of session styling for a photo shoot with an industry legend.
David won his place as part of the 'KEVIN.MURPHY UK BCA campaign', which aimed to reach over one million women by encouraging stylists to talk to their clients, family and friends about the importance of checking their breasts and getting an early diagnosis.
The company also donated £1 from sales of all its pink-packaged products during October to
Coppafeel, which is the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness among young people and was set up by Kris Hallenga.
Salons placing orders for the pink products included in the campaign were entered in to a prize draw to win a trip to South Africa and shoot with Kevin Murphy and his creative team. KEVIN.MURPHY donated in excess of £8000 to the Coppafeel campaign.

On the trip David said: " When I was notified that I’d won the trip to South Africa I thought it was an elaborate wind up. I’ve participated in photo shoots before but never to this level of professionalism; it has truly inspired me to get back in to doing a lot more photo shoots for my own salon again. Kevin was such an inspirational man, he’s very good at putting you at ease, but at the same time great at communicating and directing you to achieve more, it was the small touches that completely change the outcome to create an image that we were looking for."
