The Saks Art Team kicked-off an evening filled with celebrations last month with a catwalk show featuring hair wigs from reclaimed and repurposed materials.
Saks creative director Luke Pluckrose said: "For this year's show we sought inspiration from Alexander McQueen's 2009 collection 'Horn of Plenty' when the British fashion industry's most controversial designed transformed trash into beautiful clothing. In turn, we chose to explore the use of diverse materials – fibres, metals and fur – to create 'couture hair'."
Luke and fellow members of the art team Sarah Clarke-Lees and Clare Murphy spent months making the wigs for the show. The unconventional collection featured a paper beehive, wavy pins 'fro, a metallic cotton bob and fur crop.
Saks' managing director Stephen Kee hosted the glamorous evening to celebrate the company's achievements.
Saks Kings Hill's Claire Denyer was named the Saks Woman of the Year and was the first person to enter the Saks Woman Hall of Fame.
Saks head of marketing Janet King described Claire as a brilliant ambassador for Saks. "She is inspirational, fun, multi-award winning, strong and beautiful on the inside and out."
