Rushanara ali visits newly rebranded hair training centre

Last week Rushanara Ali, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, has officially opened the newly rebranded Central Hair London.
The apprentice training centre in Hollybush Garden was formerly known as the Joshua Galvin Academy. It was opened in 1986 and it has been responsible for training thousands of young hairdressers.
Rushanara cut the ribbon of the newly-named centre in a symbol of its official opening. She met learners working in the centre’s salon and was introduced to Bob Paice and Doreen Golding, as known as Pearly King of Forest Gate and Pearly Queen of Old Kent Road and Bow Bells.
The MP for Bethnal Green and Bow believes that the training centre is a great asset to Tower Hamlets and the wider community supporting people from all different backgrounds to launch their careers in the hair industry. She also added: “The relaunch was a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of hard-working staff, volunteers and young apprentices.”
In fact, the chairman of Central Hair London, Martin Kolton, shares her opinion. He believes the facilities will make the ideal place to learn hairdressing and barbering. Martin also said: “The UK has an outstanding worldwide reputation for producing brilliant hairdressers and we want to ensure our apprentices are equipped to maintain that level of professionalism.”
The rebranding brings the centre in-line with the company’s other facilities in South East Essex now knows as Central Hair Essex, and marks a new era for the London centre.
