It’s the month of love and more importantly, the release of Emerald Fennell’s highly anticipated ‘Wuthering Heights’. No stranger to method dressing, we all remember Margot Robbie transforming herself into Barbie for the film’s release in 2023, and the Wuthering Heights press tour has been no different. Every look has been perfectly accompanied by hairstyles which channel the romantic energy of the film. Here, Rush Artistic Team’s Sophie Chandler talks us through how to recreate Margot Robbie’s romantic waves…
“My favourite look was Margot’s long, cascading mermaid waves which were styled in an elegant half-up, half-down style and paired with face framing pieces for added texture and definition. To recreate the ‘S-wave’ shape in the lengths of the hair, I would recommend sectioning the hair and using straighteners to carefully create small bends back and forth.
“Margot’s Biscotti Blonde is a tawny, mousey hue which can be customised to harmonise with your client’s features and skin tone. The shade’s versatility means this colour can work for most palettes, thanks to its neutral-acorn base and subtle vanilla ribbons blended throughout. This is the ideal colour for those not wanting to commit to the upkeep of brighter blondes, or if you’re transitioning for a darker shade and just want to try something new!
“Margot’s stylist has also incorporated one of this season’s trending techniques – hair contouring! This is a delicate technique used to subtly illuminate and sculpt the face, using colours that harmonise with one another to create soft dimension. In comparison to balayage, hair contouring is strategically selected sections of hair, instead of the whole head of hair. This techniques showcases a gorgeous silhouette, which brightens the face and accentuates prominent facial features. What I love about hair contouring is that it is completely bespoke to each client – as stylists, we’re loving the ‘lived in’ look that’s been trending and this technique goes hand in hand!”
