Edmonton hairdresser Ricardo Perdigao won two awards at the Canadian Hairdressing Awards; New Hairstylist and Session Stylist.
Ricardo, who is based at Blunt Salon, tells us more about his winning session shoot; Veil.
"This shoot was based around the idea of creating art, not so much a focus on creating hair shots," he explains. "I wanted the end result to be something I would see in fashion or arts magazine, not necessarily a hair industry mag.
"It was a very loose set with no storyboards or initial planning. When I started working with the models, the concept of masking them - with a veil - just took over. Here were these beautiful girls, and I didn't want them to rely on their face, but their bodies to express emotion. Draping them in hair really forced that idea, and I think the photos turned out beautifully. I'm really proud of this collection!"
