As female clients have long known, dry shampoo isn't just for days when you don't have time to shower - it's also great for adding texture, volume and grip to hairstyles.

And with celebrities like One Direction opting for tousled, textured hairstyles, dry shampoo is becoming a styling hair must-have for men as well as women.

The research also reveals that sales of dry shampoo are up by 37% across the board, as more consumers become aware of the potential of this multi-tasking product.

One grooming guru who is open about his love for dry shampoo is designer Karl Lagerfeld, who recently revealed to Harper's Bazaar that he uses Klorane dry shampoo every day to give his grey hair that distinctive white finish - piling on the product for a look that's become his trademark.
