At the age of 21, in 2007, I opened my own hair salon. Within a year of opening the recession hit and sadly we had to close in 2009. This forced me to become a freelance hairdresser, which was even scarier than opening a salon!
The thing I love most about freelancing is the flexibility, the ability to earn good money, fewer outgoings and being my own boss. I also really like my clients, which helps.
There's not much I dislike but quiet times are worrying and it can be awkward waiting for a colour to develop in someone's house of they aren't chatty.
