Paul Mitchell students in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA enjoyed a slice of the silverscreen when they were called on to style hair for hit film, The Hunger Games.
The outlandish hairstyles featured in the film have been the subject of much debate and saw the stylists working behind-the-scenes creating hundreds of individually-made hairpieces for the cast of the blockbuster hit.
Bryce Carey, an educator at the Paul Mitchell School in Gastonia, Charlotte said: "Everything in the Capitol area is really opulent and extravagant. We did a lot of outrageous colours like lime green and pink incorporated into silver and white hair."
It took 40 hairstylists and 20 interns to create 4,000 sets of eyelashes, 2,000 fingernails and 700 hairpieces for the film
Fellow Paul Mitchell stylist Lyle Wilson was given the job of styling braids for the film's leading lady, Jennifer Lawrence. Lyle says: "Having a daughter and doing her hair regularly, I had that little bit of extra experience with braids. It was great to see Jennifer walk past in character with the braids and think, "that's my work".'
