hairdressing scholarship The Fellowship for British Hairdressing and The National Hairdressers' Federation have teamed up to offer one lucky UK hairdresser a year of bespoke education worth £2,500 in honour of late industry legend, Christofer Mann. The lucky recipient of the Christofer Mann Step Up and SHINE Scholarship will not just receive a year of training and education, but will also get to plan their programme with a mentor and have all of their expenses paid. Stylist and trainer, Debbie G, says: "This is such an exciting initiative. Christofer was a huge supporter of grass-roots hairdressing and believed wholeheartedly in the concept of education for all. "The Step-Up & SHINE Scholarship is open to any stylist, or assistant of any age and any level, anywhere in the UK.  No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to learn. It sums up Christofer’s ethos and sits right at the heart of what both the NHF and The Fellowship regard as fundamentally important.  And we’re hoping to discover some hidden talent in the process." Interested? Full details are below.
  • The Christofer Mann Step Up & SHINE Scholarship will be awarded to one hairdresser, with any level of experience, of any age and in any location.
  • Anyone interested in applying - or wishing to nominate someone - is asked to record a one-minute video on their smartphone or other device explaining why they love hairdressing and why they would be a great candidate.
  • A panel of industry experts will shortlist potential candidates, who will then undertake a short and informal interview during February and March 2014.
  • The winner will then be announced at the Fellowship's President's Night in April 2014.
