Indian hairdressing legend launches salon on portobello road

Indian hairdressing legend, Jawed Habib, has launched his second UK salon at an iconic address; Portobello Road. The jhHairXpreso salon - set to open to the public on 16 September - is at the heart of one of London's coolest streets, surrounded by antique markets and high-end vintage boutiques. Jawed first expanded into the UK with a salon in Fulham, which opened in December 2012. He has more than 400 salons and academies to his name in India, Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia and now has his sites firmly set on England. "I'm excited to be opening our second branch so quickly in the UK," said Jawed. "It’s just the beginning of a very exciting journey for the jhHairXpreso brand – we have big plans for the next twelve months." Global creative director, Paul MacIntyre, who will be overseeing the launch of the new branch said: "It's amazing to have our second salon opening so quickly after the first and only highlights Jawed’s raw ambition and motivation. With Portobello Road, we’ve got a great location and a talented new team and I’m confident that jhHairXpreso has plenty to offer this bustling, cosmopolitan area."
