Following a long process of application, judging and presenting, the 2011 Clynol Protégé Team was announced last month.
A total of 24 nominees were whittled down to a final team of six, who will also be joined by last year's team member Emma Bedwell for an exciting year of training, stage work, and development.
The year of education begins in March, and as the team get started on their journey, we caught up with them to find out about their hopes, aspirations, and influences for the next twelve months.

The youngest member of the Clynol Protégé Team 2011, Annie is just 19 years old.
Working for the queen of colour herself, Lisa Shepherd, Annie has already worked on photoshoots, shows and launches.
The hairdresser that Annie most admires is Errol Douglas, and she also admires Lisa Shepherd.
Annie's favourite celebrity is Rihanna as she loves her style and her amazing crimson hair.
For Annie joining the Clynol Protégé Team 2011 means the chance to be an individual and also to work confidently as a team. She thinks that it'll be a great experience and she can't wait to get stuck in.

At the age of 22, Joel has been working in hairdressing for the last three years and joined Charlotte Murray in September 2010.
He has been lucky enough to work on events for HABIA Japan, Clynol and Central St. Martin's College and says that avant garde and hair up work is what inspires him the most.
The hairdresser that Joel admires the most is Guido Palau. He loves Guido's understated approach and is fascinated by his ability to create complex styles.
It means a lot to Joel to join the Clynol Protégé Team 2011 as it is a fantastic reward for his hairdressing work. It is a real confidence boost as well as a privilege.

Patricia began her hairdressing training in 2004 at Seven Towers College in Ballymena and joined The Sitting Room in 2009 where she now works for Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year nominee Julian Dalrymple.
Inspired by the strong work and sharp cutting of Sassoon, Patricia spends her spare time with her little boy and shopping.
It means everything to Patricia to be a member of the Clynol Protégé Team 2011; she can't wait to learn some new skills from mentor Tracey Devine.
By the end of her year as a Clynol Protégé Patricia would like to be more confident in all aspects of hairdressing, particularly presentation work.

Ryan has worked in hairdressing for five years and joined Angels in 2008 where he works alongside Clynol Creative Partner, Tracey Devine. Ryan's passion is precision cutting as he feels that it can really push the boundaries of styling.
Ryan admires Akin Konizi for his amazing precision cutting and says that each time he sees a new collection from Akin it's more amazing than the last.
He also really admires Angelo Seminara's ability to push the boundaries with his creative work.
Being chosen to join the Protégé Team 2011 means a lot to Ryan because he knows that it will make him a better hairdresser. He can't wait to push himself out of his comfort zone.

Luisa has worked with Elizabeth & Giovanni for the past nine years and was inspired to go into hairdressing by family friend, the late Umberto Giannini.
She loves all aspects of hairdressing, especially colour, cutting and updos and is inspired by many hairdressers.
She loves Vidal Sassoon's creative work, Patrick Cameron for his amazing dressing work and Lisa Shepherd's passion for colour.
Joining the Clynol Protégé Team 2011 means the world to Luisa. She can't wait to learn more about photographic work and is really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the team as she loves to meet new people.

Training as a hairdresser straight from school, Lizzie already has a wealth of experience to bring to Clynol's youth team. Working for three times winner of North Western Hairdresser of the Year, Sharon Peake, Lizzie assisted on Sharon's BHA collection shoot and also worked behind the scenes of Britain's Next Top Model.
Unsurprisingly, Lizzie's hairdressing hero is Sharon Peake.
Being chosen as a member of the Clynol Protégé Team 2011 is really exciting for Lizzie as she can't wait to develop her presentation and show skills further and learn from the rest of the team!
