He's famous for being an artist with hair, but Mark Woolley recently turned his creative skills to photography to raise funds for the Rocking Horse charity.
The owner and creative director of the Electric hair salon chain created a piece of artwork called 587 Shops. The collage of photographs included 587 store fronts that Mark had snapped on his travels, over the course of two years.
Mark's artwork was auctioned in a charity evening at the Electric Salon and Studio in Brighton, with a host of fantastic prizes on offer. A Christopher Raeburn silk two-piece, Jeremy Hoye necklace and luxury spa experience were all up for grabs, but it was Mark's masterpiece which was the centre of attention on the night, selling for £1,000.
He says: "I had never done anything like this before and found myself getting totally absorbed in the project. When you are used to only have a window of a few hours at most to create a hairstyle, it’s a real luxury to have two years to work on something.
"I'm so pleased the hard work and time I've put into it has been appreciated and reflected in the sum raised for Rocking Horse."
The live auction raised more than £6,000 for the children's charity on the night.
