Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman created smoothed-back chignons for the Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2013 show at London Fashion Week.
Show: Mary Katrantzou
Stylist: Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman for Wella Professionals
Inspiration: Sleek, graphic aerodynamic shapes with structure to reflect the clothes in the collection. "They're very conceptual," Eugene explained. "It's couture and sharp". Creating an clean, elongated head shape, loosely based on Nefertiti.

The look: A small bun right at the back of the head, creating a small head shape with impactful colour created by Josh Wood with Illumina colour. Texture is wet and shiny with hair pulled tightly back.
Get the look: Starting with clean freshly washed and conditioned hair, spray Wella Professionals Create Character Texturizing Spray into the roots of the hair and blow-dry with a soft bristled brush, pulling the hair back and away from the face.
Section off the back of the head from ear to ear across the centre of the crown and clip the front hair out of the way.
Tie the section at the back of the head into a ponytail and backcomb small sections to create volume. Then roll into a bun and pin in place on the head, securing with a net.
Section the remaining hair in three; two side panels and one in the centre. Take one side section and make it as sleek and taut as possible. Spray Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray to give sheen and help the brush glide through the hair.
Spray the hair with Wella Professionals Dynamic Fix Finishing Spray close to the roots so that the hair is wet and create tension by brushing and pulling the back at the same time.
Repeat on the other side section and tie them into place over the bun. Take the top section and working from the crown towards the front of the head, use the same technique alternating Shimmer Delight with Dynamic Fix Finishing Spray.
Adding an extra dimension to the hair, Josh Wood had already coloured the hair of several models in advance including model-of-the-moment Chrystal Copland, who Josh transformed with a platinum shade from Illumina. "The hair is quite minimal," Josh explained. "We needed a pure colour to create the aesthetic of a dainty and feminine head shape. There was an interesting juxtaposition of between the beautiful print and volume of the collection and the tights heads and neutral hair colours. Using Illumina Color ensured that the model's hair was beautifully shiny, luminous and very premium-looking, adding to the refinement of the look."
