With longer lengths being one of the key looks this season, hair extensions are a perfect way to instantly create the style.

Whether it is incorporating a focal fringe, a splash of colour or adding volume, they are a quick and easy option to attain the must-have style.

marc-jacobs-long-hair.jpg"Hair extensions take on a soft, feminine edge this coming season with styles that are fashionable and immensely wearable. Full fringes are achieved while length is given volume with the addition of soft, romantic waves.

"This juxtaposition of proportions was seen in the Marc Jacobs show and matched the serene and dreamy lines of his collection. This mood is perfectly reflected with long, luscious, full-head extensions in tonal variants to catch the light. Hair is styled from a centre parting to give volume and length that shimmers in the Autumn light."

Andrew Barton for Racoon

"This Autumn/Winter there will still be bold colours but they won't be as bright as before; instead they will be more focused on copper and natural browns. daks-show-long-hair.jpgThere are two clear trends: sophisticated career woman and street. For bounce and volume, clients will be able to achieve the luxurious, thicker looks by having more extensions applied.

"The second distinct trend is focused on young people, who prefer longer hair that's disconnected, working next to undercuts and creating more texture."

Paul Falltrick for Great Lengths

"Autumn/Winter will be all about instant change - the clip-in market will be big this season. Colour, volume, length and updos can all be created in minutes - and this is what the client will be asking for. The huge ponytail trend of the catwalk will also be in vogue, and extensions are a great way to achieve this look."
