A Kent Brushes statue has been unveiled in front of their factory in Apsley, celebrating their presence in the professional market since 1777.
The giant metal sculpture, which depicts a lady brushing her hair with a huge brush, was created by award-winning designer, sculpture and landscape artist John Everiss, who won gold at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Having constructed their first landmark in Apsley in 1901 - a 200ft chimney with Kent Brushes in large letters fixed down the side, which could be seen by those travelling through on the train to London or Birmingham - the new sculpture is a welcome addition for Kent, who have been without a distinctive landmark since building their 'new' factory over 30 years ago.
Alan says: "I am absolutely delighted with this stunning sculpture. The comments coming over the local social networks have been fantastic and I am very proud and excited that our Lady has been so well accepted and admired. She has been commissioned as a memorable landmark in recognition of our talented past, present, and future Employees; dating from our foundation in 1777."
