Kao Salon Division is thrilled to announce that the entry phase for the 2024 Global Creative Awards will run from 15 May to 31 May, 2024. The Awards will take place fully virtual this year, enabling even more professionals from around the world to showcase their talent. All Kao Salon Division customers that use Goldwell, KERASILK, KMS and Oribe are welcome to participate in the internationally recognised competition.

Having been part of the Kao Salon Global Experience over the last few years, the 2024 Global Creative Awards will take place without the live competition. After a very successful event in Chicago in September 2023, Kao Salon Division took the decision to pause the live event in 2024 to reflect the ongoing changes in the hairdressing industry, relaunching the Global Experience in 2025 with a live program designed for a new generation of salon professionals – transforming into a new, modern and sustainable experience.
Kao Salon Division 2024 Global Creative Awards: A Photo-only Competition
In the 2024 Global Creative Awards, stylists will compete in two photo-only competitions: The Technical Awards (three different categories) and the Editorial Awards (two different categories). The categories and this year’s associated challenges are as follows...
Technical Awards
New Talent Colorist of the Year
Challenge: Show the world that age is not a prerequisite for creative excellence. This category is designed for stylists with less than five years of experience to display their talent and technical ability.
Creative Colorist of the Year
Challenge: The ultimate colour competition where stylists with passion and drive can bring their vision to life in the stunning world of colour.
Creative Haircutter of the Year
Challenge: This category is open to all passionate haircutters to show the world that their work is a cut above with this precision cutting competition.
The participants of the technical categories will first compete at the national level in their respective countries, then the Gold winners will move on to the international competition.
Editorial Awards
Men‘s Hairstylist of the Year
Challenge: Show expertise in men’s styling, barbering and grooming by creating a cutting-edge men’s look.
Avant Garde stylist of the Year
Challenge: Push the boundaries of conventional hairstyling and dare to inspire with a look of visionary work.
The participants of the editorial categories must compete globally in this photo-only international competition. Unlike in previous years, for this category stylists are asked to submit one final image instead of a collection of three images.
Reward and Recognition
The global Gold Winners of each of the Technical and Editorial categories will be recognised and awarded for all their creative efforts. In addition to the international gold trophy, they will receive worldwide editorial coverage, a cash prize of €2,500, global social media exposure and a three-day trip to London, the hairdressing capital of Europe.

All entries have to be completed here between 15 May – 31 May 2024. On this website, professionals will also find information about the competition categories, judging guidelines, information on how to enter, the terms and conditions as well as a briefing kit and technical heads to download.
The National Winners of the 2024 Global Creative Awards will then be announced later this year in July; the announcement of the Global Winner will take place in September.
