Introducing... hairdressers helping hairdressers day

HABB, the hairdressing industry charity, is calling on the whole of the hairdressing industry to unite for Hairdressers Helping Hairdressers Day. Supported by L’Oreal Professionnel, who have been auctioning off senior members of their office team to work in salons for the day, the idea is to do something to fun to raise money for hairdressers in need. Fundraising can be a great way to create a feel-good factor amongst your team, generate positive PR in your local community and do your bit for those not as fortunate as you. It can be a big investment of your time or it can be something you just do without any impact. Here are some simple ideas you could adopt for the Helping Hairdressers Day on Friday June 26th. ALL OUT EFFORT – great for team morale and PR Friday nights are party nights. End your normal business hours an hour early and run a blow-dry and updos bash in aid of charity. Ask clients for a voluntary contribution. Make the evening a night to remember by encouraging your team to get glammed up, offering free fizz and nibbles and inviting any local celebrities, high profile people and, of course, local journalists and bloggers along. TEAM SPIRIT – great for creating a bond As it’s an industry charity, you might decide to make it a staff-only event - and what better than a good old fashioned dressing up day. If you have a uniform, you can charge team members to wear their own clothes for the day. Alternatively, think of a fun theme; wear a onesie, dress as a character, dress as a movie, dress as another member of the team... all simple ideas which work well. If you’re going for a creative theme, make sure you have collection boxes on hand so your clients can support you. KEEP IT SIMPLE – perfect for the feel-good factor Want to give something back to the industry, but don’t have the time or the energy to do something big? A tips day is perfect for you. All you have to do is ask each member of the team to put one (or more, if they're feeling generous) of their tips in the collection box.
