The ghd Midnight Collection is twelve professional looks all inspired by the Autumn/Winter 2010 catwalk shows and created using the new ghd Gold Classic styler.
Here is how you can create voluminous waves in long hair using your stylers.

Step One: Take an orbital/radial parting from crown to temples, then a second parting from crown to ears and clip away the front sections. | Step Two: From the nape, take a 2cm-deep horizontal section. Then take a 2cm square sub section, place the styler horizontally at the root with your thumb on top, rotate 180 degrees away from the head and glide 45 degrees from roots to ends. Wrap the curl back towards the head and secure with a clip. Continue to complete the section. |
 | |
Step Three: Continue this process, working upwards in horizontal sections using a brick wind technique to complete the back section. This will prevent any unwanted partings. | Step Four: From the front section, take a diagonal 2cm section above the ear. Place the styler at a 45-degree angle with your thumb on top, rotate 180 degrees towards the face and glide from roots to ends. Wrap the curl back towards the head and secure with a clip. Continue to complete the section. |
 | |
Step Five: Continue this process working upwards towards the orbital section, using a brick wind technique. Repeat on the right-hand section. | Step Six: Working on the orbital section, starting from the crown take a 2cm deep horizontal section and 2cm square sub section. Place the styler at the root with your thumb forward towards the face, rotate 180 degrees and glide at 90 degrees from roots to ends. Continue to complete the section. |
 | |
Step Seven: Repeat step six to complete the orbital section using a brick wind technique to complete the preparation. | Step Eight: Using a soft brush, brush through to a soft wave. |
 | |
Step Nine: Take a vertical parting from crown to ear on each side and clip the hair away. | Step Ten: From the back, take a horizontal sub section and lightly brush back at the roots to give and secure lift, while retaining the shape of the wave. Continue this process, gradually increasing the back brush lift until you reach the crown. |
 | |
Step Eleven: Take a triangular section from temples to crown, twist and clip away. | Step Twelve: Working on the sides, take a horizontal sub section and lightly back brush underneath each section to achieve the desired lift and volume, still retaining the shape of the wave. Continue until you have completed the sides. |
 | |
Step Thirteen: On the top, working from the crown, take horizontal sub sections. Lift and over direct each section and lightly back brush to achieve lift, while retaining the wave. Repeat until you reach the front. | Step Fourteen: Once all of the above is complete, use a soft dressing to connect the sides to the back. Personalise the finished look by defining the wave and movement with your fingers. |
